Can anyone help me? My husband might be transferred to Preston. He is from London and I am Canadian. I have been to London but never up to Preston. Can anyone tell me what it is like? culture, weather, average price of home?? anything would be appreciated.
thanks so much
I did. I have never been there. Ok, so no culture. No problem. What is the city like?I am trying to get a feel for the city and what it has to offer. Is it bad, good, indifferent?
Thanks
Well, as someone said, the countryside being so closeby is probably the best thing about it. They have a really good Morrison's grocery store too.
I think it's one of the rainiest places in the UK due to being on the wrong side of the hills. It gets some snow in the winter.
It's a great jumping off spot for the Lake District, Manchester, and other attractions. I wouldn't mind living in the outlying areas of Preston.
A lot of the dirty old mill towns in the north have been revitalized and are thriving but Preston isn't one of them.
