I never thought that british people were not fond of Americans. From what I have seen having traveled back and forth to London and Manchester is that brits envy Americans the same way we do back here. They love our accents, the love our style, our money, etc. I think that for the most part the UK and the US are very similar.

Most people in the UK that I know of never mention it one way or the other. There is a lot of American television programs here so we must like something about Americans!

I didn't know the British hated the Americans well I have never seen any hatred and enough Brits visit and even live in the US now more than ever.

I was in UK for three short days in May. No matter where I went or if I had any questions, everyone I ran into helped out a lot. Everyone treated me nice, I had no problems. Thanks UK!
