while researching, i found alot of british hating on americans. they call us stupid, fat and ignorant.

The funny thing is, in america, people really dont give a damn. I move from west africa to amerca in 2003 and never really heard an american talking bad about the british or even talking about the british as a matter of fact.

so why do England in general hates america?

what did america/americans do?

Alright I`ll play...The one major reason is that most Americans haven`t the faintest idea how the offside rule works in what we call football and you so quaintly call soccer...There I said it!!

If that is true, which I highly doubt. It probably is much like The Civil War (substitute 1812) issue that is still ever present to this day in the states, especially the South. Kept alive through misinformation, misplaced pride, and just down right hatefulness. Passed down from generation to generation unfortunately!!. Simply ridiculous, and illogical in my book at least!

The original poster speaks the truth. Theres America bashing in the British media CONSTANTLY and its also something that one hears on the streets, places of work, etc.

But in 26 years of living in the US, NOT ONCE have I heard anybody EVEN MENTION the UK. Positive or negative. Americans dont care in the slightest about the British. This makes the constant America bashing in England all the more hillarious. Its like a yappy dog desperately trying to get attention.

This kind of stuff goes on all the time between states. I live near the KS\MO border and they are always taking shots at each other.

There is certainly a small segment in most foreign countries that blame every problem imaginable on the US because we are a convenient scapegoat for their own woes. (ie. Syria has 30% or higher unemployment....they have to keep their population focused on the US, Israel, Lebannon etc. for blame or they'd be overthrown)

Bottom line, I think we generally have very good relationships with the UK and so what if they complain about us from time to time (sometimes correctly, sometimes not) its fairly normal between neighbors. (Wonder what they say about the French and Irish and vice-versa. :-) )
