Is Twinnings a popular brand of tea in England, or is it just marketed as such here in the States?

It's a very good tea, as is the Irish brand "Barry's." My husband loves his morning pot of tea, and those are the brands I buy for him.

I'm English living in the US and have found that ordering tea is a bit hit and miss, most places will bring you hot tea with a slice of lemon or iced tea. I have found most places don't have milk only creamer for coffee which is a no-no in tea. So I drink coffee while I'm out and about and tea at home. Brands ? Has to be Tetleys for my morning cuppa and usually a decent loose leaf earl grey in the afternoon.

Twining isn't so popular in the UK, my nana used to say they used the shakings that were left over after the other tea companies had taken all the useful leaf. Barry's is good, watch out in your local stores for PG Tips or Tetley British blend they are both somewhat acceptable.

Curious about if the Brits like Green Tea or not.
I always though Green Tea is more popular in Asian countries, especially China. No?

Brits drink more tea than any other nationality, but coffee has caught up in recent years.
