BBC NEWS | UK | UK Politics | Brown and Cameron in Obama clash

I am horrified that Cameron dares to compare himself to Obama.

Cameron is a direct descendant of the English aristocracy, an upper-class Eton schoolboy - who got his first job with the Tories because someone from the Palace 'made a call'.

He has no credentials as a politician other than he wants the top job and thinks his over-privileged upbringing means he deserves it.

Obama actually worked to get where he is today, without social or financial advantage, in the face of adversity and prejudice.

Cameron just took the free ride. He should be ashamed.

Obama reminds me of Alex Salmond, not a bad thing though.

Don't even talk about Cameron

Obama had so much support from the media it was disgusting! It became so obvious, that Saturday Night Live (a comedy/variety show) did skits on it every week. ANYTHING Hillary Clinton did was attacked. She was the better candidate. MSNBC and CNN favored him tremendously. B Hussein had the privilege of affirmative action. It really became stylish to be white and vote for the 1st generation Kenyan.

It's really quite funny if you think about it. In the past the U.S. had trouble electing someone if they were a "Catholic", never mind someone of Italian ancestory, or a Mormon. All of our presidents except Kennedy have been WASP's. Now, we have a negro with a Muslim father that disowned him, who had ties to a domestic terrorist, and went to a radical anti-white and anti-Jew church faithfully, and donated $50,000 to it as well. It's amazing. But it is also a reflection of how severly hated George W. Bush was. People wanted to elect the exact anti-thesis of him.

I don't think there was a single item in your post that was even remotely true.

Fox News bias towards Obama was most noticable. Especially Sean Hannity.

But the thread, in the UK forum, isn't about Obama, so let's concentrate on the Cameron angle, shall we?

Why the hell would anyone in their right mind want to vote for the Torries? They're all for the yuppies and care mostly about the English public rather than the UK as whole. No thanks, you can have him

What makes this comparison especially hypocritical is that John McCain addressed a Conservative Party earlier this year with Cameron doing a good brown nose job on him.

as David Lammy MP writes of Cameron in the New Statesman...

"In telling the President-elect that he (Cameron) was just "the first of a new generation of leaders", what he seemed really to be saying was: "This moment of history isn't about you and your achievement; really, it's all about me."

He wants to be Britain's candidate of change, claiming that Obama, like him, was a "novice".

Such posturing distorts the truth about Obama's political apprenticeship. His political world-view is grounded in his experience as a community organiser. He has a deep-seated affinity with the people of Chicago's South Side among whom he has worked. He understands their daily struggles and the dreams they hold for their children. For Cameron to claim common cause with Obama is absurd and demeaning"
