It should all be very simple. Not that these things ever are....She should not be executed, as there is an unborn child to think about....Although I`m not convinced that the pregnancy came about in the way it`s portrayed, and it could just have been engineered to save her own sorry skin...She should have the child taken away when born and it given a decent life...She should then be left to contemplate the result of her greed and stupidity...My bigger interest would be to see when Reprieve have banished Capital Punishment around the world, where will they then turn their attentions?? I`ve nothing against them..Well no more than I have against other busy bodies, who have to have a cause, anyway..

Maybe she shouldent have gotten involved in drug smuggling? Though in her defense, many smugglers will take advantage of naive people and use them as traffickers without their knowledge (as in "hey take this package to Laos and you can keep this huge wad of cash - but don't look inside the package!") ... however being young and dumb is no excuse.

She really only has herself to blame. Greed , utter disrespect for local lawas and stupidity are a very dangerous combination. Being pregnant will no doubt help her case. One wonders whether she got pregnant on purpose....
I have little sympathy for her but of course she is dragging a child to be into that turgid story which is incredibly sad.
Anyone with an ounce of brain would know the drug policies of places like Laos, Thailand etc... Greed obviously won her over but you break the rules you pay the price. It's a bit like wondering around naked, heavy petting in a public place in Saudi Arabia. Not a great idea if you wish to remain alive or at least free... Local laws are not there to look pretty on the country's legal documents. They are not guidelines. They are laws. Pure and simple. Ignore them at your peril.
As far as I am concerned they should throw away the key when her child is born ( have the child adopted, she is hardly good parent material) . I have absolutely zero sympathy of drug smuggling. Nada. I understand why countries like Laos and Thailand have such harsh penalties for it as it is a cancer eating at their country.
No doubt Britain will now be furiously negotiating to save her skin . Shame that if you are a truly poverty stricken Lao or Thai drug smuggling out of utter desperation different rules seem to apply.
Being white or from a Western Nation usually does help .
The real tragedy is a child in all this. What a way to begin your life , in a jail with a mother like that.

You eloquently took the words out of my mouth Mooseketeer.
Twenty years old is certainly old enough to know what you're doing.
