If in New Mexico
Not to rub it in or anything, but consider this:
World Famous Salsa & Green Chile Sauce - El Pinto
That particular restaurant, which is quite good by the way, is located in NE Albuquerque, New Mexico. As in a state of the United States of America, although more than a few American citizens do not know as much. Plenty of Taco Bells in that town and state, which survive perfectly fine. But also from an area that takes its cuisine very seriously, and has many superlative restaurants to prove it. Think Santa Fe, NM.
If the OP had come from New Mexico rather than Michigan the switch to the UK might be nearly unbearable.

Chipotle is awesome! Come to my town and try Taco Cabana. I swear to you that when you have Chipotle and Taco Cabana basically on one street, you will forget all about Taco Bell!

My error
I incorrectly mentioned the El Pinto restaurant as being in NE Albuquerque. It is not, but rather in the NW quadrant of the city.
Their location is near the Rio Grande river, but a short distance west of I-25. Easiest access is via the Tramway exit, driving west on Roy Ave. Their address is: 10500 4th St NW.
My apologies to anyone lost in NE Albuquerque looking for this place.

I'm sure there are very few people on this forum who were sincerely offended.

Taco Bell isn't even a great fast food version of Mexican food when compared to Del Taco, Taco Time or other such franchises.

If you happen to go to Tijuana, there is a Taco Bell on the US side of the fence and custom station, about a few hundred yards away, in an outlet mall. Go in there sometime and see if you can find anyone who speaks English as a first language. This a half-mile away from the Mexican border. It must have something going for it.

Several years ago I actually saw a Taco Bell in Morelia, in central Mexico...so not only was it in Mexico, but it was faaaar from the border too. I had to a double-take on that one
