You don't have to be a citizen to use the national health service, you just have to be a legal resident - even if you just here as a student you are entitled.

I know property is very exp in HI, but it's pretty high in the UK too and not sure how wages compare ?
Maybe OP could give us some idea of what salary she is making.

......and the fact that it's not free if you work.

Op - Think long and hard before taking a step further...All of the other posters have givne you a good idea. Check the mainland, check Canada, check Oz. All will be an easier adjustment.

Go on line to to find out your costs...you will need at least a two bedroom flat...remembering you will most likely need to replace everthing you have...due to shipping costs and electrical power supply. Add in higher costs for auto and petrol/gas...

And don't forget that pesky thing called a J O B
