China and India are becoming much more auto dependent and FAST. Many of their newer cities are super auto-oriented at the core. Their increasing middle classes mean more and more car use and more and more suburbs. I visited India twice over the span of a year and was shocked to see 4 new office parks nearing completion that hadn't even been started the first time I visited. The highway systems are expanding rapidly out there as well.

When you consider the number of people in China and India and the rapidly increasing number of cars they're using, it's kind of scary.

Saudi Arabia. Cities there generally don't have any form of mass transit or intercity transit other than the roads they drive on. From what I saw in the few weeks I spent there last summer, just about everybody drives there, usually with the airconditioning on full blast (can't say I blame them). The 25 cent gas doesn't hurt either. The results are some of the most insanely-congested streets I've ever seen.
