Odd.

In any event, I really appreciate all the attention you draw to the nations' 1st and 2nd most densely populated urban areas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Thanks a million.
Yes, you are right, Los Angeles IS more densely populated than San Francisco, has more people, and is developing more infrastructure that can support more public transportation and more highrises, something that smaller size San Francisco can't do.

Yes, LA as a whole is more car dependent, but that's mostly because of a function of its large size. If you live in Downtown LA or anywhere along the Wilshire corridor, its easily just as urban, if not moreso than San Francisco.

Wonderful.

Los Angeles and San Francisco are the 1st and 2nd most densely populated urban areas in the United States.

Thank you for creating this thread so everyone might know this undisputable fact.

LA and SF offer up valuable lessons in urban planning that might aid super-sprawled places like the Northeast. Keep hope alive!

Thanks for repeatedly acknowledging that Los Angeles IS more dense and populated than San Francisco. I'm sure the truth is hard to come by being a vehement Bay Area booster, but now you've made a step toward being a more objective poster.

Again, for reference

You sound like a butthurt girl who's an unlucky loser in the sexual market sweepstakes:

"Hey fellas, you better hurry up and get married before you get too old. Cuz you know you guys have a biological clock, right? I mean, you know us women, our options only get better with age (nervous chuckle). That's right. When you're 35 and single, and all of you have are your high-powered careers, fast sports cars and bachelor pads, you're going to wish you had settled down with a nice girl in college when your value was higher. Because at 35 you're going to be all used up, your looks will have faded, and no woman's going to want some near 40-year old, cardiothorasic surgeon who's slept with every Jane, Brenda and Margaret. No woman wants a guy who's been with a lot of girls...it's a huge turn off...Yuck! And once your reputation has been sullied, you're not going to get a decent girl to commit to you. So go down to Tiffany's and buy some 34-year old career woman a $30,000 diamond ring WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!!"

It's actually sort of sad that we can't even get a decent discussion of some of the largest cities on the West Coast because neither side really wants to debate it.

Anyways, talking about middle aged places with its best days behind them...
