Because even if you manage to get more environments like manhattan, you are still going to have drunk drivers, because they are irreponsible.
That makes no sense. Car ownership in Manhattan is very low, and to a lesser extent in New York City in general. How can one drive drunk if they don't own car regardless of responsibility?
And for your information, you could replace the word "suburbs" with "Indianapolis" in all of your posts, and I don't think we would disagree.
Many people bash Indy for being a suburb. And one of the things that gets railed on is the transit and how you HAVE TO USE A CAR to be a part of the city. I've done it myself. Check out the Indianapolis forum. I have two threads devoted to it.
Would you care to rethink your suburbs=martyr position now that you know that "cities" get bashed for being car dependent as well?
Or are you still getting a high off of knowing that "everyone is bashing the suburbs"?
I live in the suburbs, and no I'm not getting of my "everyone is bashing the suburbs" stance because that is what this thread is based around. The fact that you live in indy doesnt change my stance at all becaue you are just one person.

i've been to new york a number of times and I still see people driving cars.
I think this thread has run its course. People keep repeating the same arguements or staking out absurd positions.
