Laughable! DC and Baltimore for that matter are way more urban than Seattle. As for growth, Seattle is nowhere near DC on the development side. Get real.
LOL look at you! You cute little DC kids, ah where does the time go??
Every city can make a similar claim. New York has two airports within it's city limits. Boston, Denver, Atlanta, etc....
I am aware of that already. And by the way the ohare neighborhood almost takes up bostons entire city limits. denvers takes up 50 square miles. If chicago can some how get its act together and do something about the cities southside I could see chicago having well over 4 million people someday. Not anytime soon though.
98174 had a population density of 1,833 pet square mile so you were close on about 49,000 people per square mile off...

#50 in the US's densest zipcodes. Seattle is much more urban than Baltimore and that is not even a debate to be had and I give DC the edge for now but Seattle's constrained geography and fast infill will creep its way into DC's level and may surpass it.

according to city data your statistics are wrong and as far as competing with dc for density maybe you should knock on your buddies door vancouver next to you because your neighbor to the north is the only city that can go head to head with dc in terms of density in the pacific northwest

Yes "according to city data" I am wrong. You wont catch me losing any sleep about that. LOL
Zipatlas.com is an entire site dedicated to giving you socioeconomic, population, density, other info about select zip codes and I am more inclined to use their reputable site than city data as far as facts go.
The densest zipcode in Seattle 98174 has a density of 51K, DC's densest zipcode is 20009 with a density of 34K.
So there!
But DC is has higher density across the board. That walkability list varies from year to year. DC was number two or three a few years back. Seattle is a beautiful city but it's not more urban than DC or Baltimore.

k. For the time being I will agree with you that DC is perhaps the more urban city between the two but its not something DC can run away with.
Baltimore more urban than Seattle? I don't think so. Why??

Have you seen the development DC is going through right now? And keep in mind, we are in a recession. Baltimore is more urban than Seattle from a structural density standpoint. The city is filled with tight rowhouses that run forever. Seattle has a better skyline.

Chicago probably has more potential than any city in the U.S. The land is cheaper and easier to develop because its flat, plus the lakefront on the southside makes an incredible setting.
