Correct. Shows like like Good Morning America and Dateline have people convinced that there is a child molester behind every bush, rock and ice cream truck. Ok, so maybe there is one in every ice cream truck.

In the town I grew up in they had neighborhood schools. Everyone within a 1 mile radius had to talk, no bus would pick you up.

And you know what? A lot of kids walked. Well about 3 years ago, they got rid of those neighborhood schools because kids were tracking at different levels due to the different socioeconomic backgrounds of the town neighborhoods. For about 5 years in a row, 75% of the top 10 in the high school went to the same elementary school.

Now they took those 3 neighborhood schools and makes them serve K-1, 2-3, and 4-5. Much less walking now.
