Domestic (USA):

Yes
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Denver
  • Kansas City
  • Seattle

Runners-up:
  • Columbus
  • Minneapolis
  • Providence
  • Richmond
  • Washington, with the provision that we swap populations with Baltimore

No
  • Cleveland
  • El Paso
  • Jacksonville
  • Oklahoma City
  • San Francisco (sorry, the place is gorgeous but the people unbearably and unjustifiably smug. But if I absolutely had to live there, I'd live in Oakland.)

International:

Yes
  • London
  • Paris
  • Montréal
  • Stockholm
  • Toronto

No
  • Beijing, or any other city in China save maybe Hong Kong
  • Manila
  • Moscow, mainly because I hear Russians tend to beat up on blacks (but I must ride the Moscow metro before I die)
  • Singapore
  • Warsaw

You may note from these lists that cities where it's always warm don't necessarily appeal to me the way they do to so many. I'm definitely a four-seasons person: "Those who cannot handle winter don't deserve summer."

Cities I would live in

1.) Philadelphia
2.) Washington DC
3.) Atlanta
4.) Charleston
5.) Charlotte

* an honorable mention that would be #6 is Boston

I honestly couldn’t see myself living in no other coast but the east coast.

Cities I would not live in
1.) LA - only the rich side really attracts me
2.) Baltimore - but would love to invest in the city
3.) Miami
4.) Vegas - seems like a legit giant suburb outside the strip
5.) Providence, RI

I based this list off the places that I’ve been too. I left out cities that I have not been to simply because my mind can suddenly change when i do visit then. I’ll be taking a trip and visiting Ohio cities this summer hopefully!

Definitely Would:
Charleston SC
Savannah GA
Boston MA
San Diego CA
Seattle WA

Would have some reservations:
Atlanta GA
Pheonix AZ
San Francisco CA
Miami FL
Washington DC
Houston

I can only say I would have reservations. I think I could live in and enjoy almost any city for five years (assuming I had enough money). The "Would" cities are pretty easy for me and I could add 20 more or maybe 100 I wold be very happy to live in for 5 years. The only Cities I think I would not live in for 5 years are cities I have not been to but sound awful like Tokyo, Mosul, Seoul, However maybe I would find them acceptable if I went there. Paris stands out as a place I can pretty comfortably say I would not want to live there for 5 years. I have not been there, but I am informed it is full of Parisians. Parisians are the only group of people whom I have consistently disliked every member of the group that I have met. I am pretty comfortable saying Paris would be unpleasant place for me to live (unless they emptied it out for me first).

Miami
D.C.
