Agreed, but you could also argue that Chicago uses rapid transit instead of light rail.

Chicago is better, though Philadelphia benefits from being on the High speed Northeast Corridor. Serves both airports and ballparks. But Philadelphia has through-running convenient for suburb to suburb commuters, and is all electric instead of diesel. While electrification is very costly, it allows tunnel running and smells better. The PATCO speed rail is an interesting operation, the model for BART, and runs well. Chicago transit is switching to a "Ventra" system which could be a mess.
