Yes, mass transit is wonderful.

I would rather sit in my car (that I paid for) and crawl along than pay one penny to subsidize money-losing mass transit so someone with evidently way too much time on their hand can whine and whine and whine about trivialities.

You are aware that road you drive on is also subsidized. So what is the point of this thread? Did you just have some weird desire to take to the internet and tell people how much you hate mass transit?

So, you guys would rather sit in cars or trucks that physically prevent you from splaying out, than just be respectful of strangers?

Apparently it is very upsetting to have your entitlement questioned.

But aren't you the one whining about trivialties?
While you sit in your car on a subsidized road with subsidized fuel.

While one cannot splay their legs as considerably in the drivers seat of a motor vehicle as in a subway car, I assure you it is far easier to work the gas, clutch, and brake pedals with knees quite far apart than with legs modestly crossed.

Most people don't drive with their legs wide enough to hump the wheel. The guys who get picked on the trains for this tend to have their legs spread as wide as they go.

The point is valid. Taking mass transit means either being a dirtbag or yielding in many ways to the desires of others (who are usually dirtbags themselves... you haven't lived until you've seen someone whose butt requires two seats yell at a someone else for having his legs apart. Well, maybe you have...)
