Sure it makes sense, I know several people who do this in my city. They live in the city because they enjoy the lifestyle and prefer it to that of the suburbs, despite the fact that their jobs are in the suburbs. I work in pharmacy, so this is typical of the profession since we work wherever people live. Despite this, many prefer an urban lifestyle and so reverse commute. In my city, however, it should be noted that the suburbs are generally considered less prosperous then the core, with exceptions of course.

Yea, if you really like the city more, it could be sensible as long the commute time isn't outrageous and the cost not to mud more. I have a friend that move to the city from the burbs even though her job is in the suburbs, she's said she's really happy with her decision, she likes her area much more.
