I don't know many streets around the U.S., but I love these neighborhoods: All of Northwest, DC; Fells Point, Baltimore; Old City, Phildelphia; Park Slope, Brooklyn; Beacon Hill and Back Bay, Boston; Mexican War Streets, Pittsburgh. In my hometown though, I think this may be my favorite streets:

Also, in Pittsburgh, the cultural district area is nice along Penn Ave.
Acorn Street in Boston is awesome.

Not sure about specific streets. I can go only with Chicago, since it's the only place I've walked certain streets enough to get a valid "feel" for the life and times of that place.

I'd go with Belmont between Sheffield and Lake Michigan in Chicago. I also love Broadway between Diversey and Grace.

Clark Street and Lincoln are awesome streets for architecture and street traffic from downtown up through Lakeview and beyond.

^ I forgot to put that one of the main reasons I love those streets is because you can start in the heart of the loop and walk through amazing, hard core urban and dense areas for miles and miles without ever having to cross over or under a freeway/tollway/expressway which always tend to slice off one area from another.

It's just a solid stretch of urban living with no massive concrete barriers.

Chicago's North Michigan Ave. Incredibly energetic, lots of great sights to see, lots of tourists, canyons of skyscrapers. Just an awesome place to be, especially around Christmas time with all the lights and hoardes of shoppers.

St Charles Ave in New Orleans. The history and architecture along the street is amazing, the historic streetcar just adds to the ambiance and feel of the area too. During Mardi Gras St Charles is like one giant party with all the parades, people, and beer everywhere. It was also named one of the 10 Great Streets in America by the APA. Westheimer in Houston is my favorite urban street. It goes from Downtown to Midtown to Uptown. Inbetween those 3 areas you have several districts that are pretty cool like Montrose, Greenway Plaza, and Upper Kirby District. In my opinion Westheimer is the heart of Houston

Peachtree street in Atlanta,Ga. Not to be confused with Peachtree Ave., Industrial Peachtree, Peachtree Battle, Peachtree Dunwoody, West Peachtree, or a dozen other Peachtrees also in Atlanta. Here's a video of the drive from Buckhead to Midtown (about half of the most interesting part of the street) and downtown.
