Just wondering what cities have BRT or are getting it and your opinion on BRT vs lightrail. Minneapolis is getting a line on 35w that will extend from downtown minneapolis to burnsville. my opinion is that it wont attract as many riders as lightrail and during the winter months will not be on time do to ice and snow.

Reason: none
Well I know in Atlanta they are currently building one on Memorial Dr. In Dekalb County (Stone Mountain Area). I know this line will be good and be very effective for the Area it serves but personally I hate BRT. Its a glorified Bus to me.

I see BRT, especially BRT that runs with Traffic as more of a temporary fix for a Future rail line.
Like where I live now in Charlotte, I would love to see BRT implemented on the future Independence and North Tryon Lines and A Smaller BRT implemented on the Future Center City Streetcar from Beatties Ford Health Center to Eastland Mall. The BRT lines can really guage how the lines will be used in the future and if it is conceivable to actually build the amazingly expensive rail lines. But that is just my thoughts.
lol @ brt and street cars/trollies. playing catch up to the rest of the world is not going to be solved by brt.
why the u.s. (excluding the usual cities) doesn't believe in rail i'll never know.
Because they want to keep things "cheap." You build BRT, you get what you deserve. I hate BRT's myself. Streetcars on rail isn't bad if it's ran from neighborhood or block to block similar to what DC is doing.
