Red face Need info on Utah communities...

We are planning to relocate to Utah very soon. I have been there and love Orem but am having a hard time finding a nice single family house to rent. Can anyone suggest a nice, clean, quiet area (preferably in Utah County) that is not too expensive? I would need a house to rent that is pet friendly; we have a small service dog for my daughter, an indoor only cat and small bird who is always caged. We would consider a duplex style or townhouse if it is a quiet building as my daughter has health problems and needs a lot of rest. I would appreciate information on the different towns and communities and any suggestions. Thank you!

Try the northern area of American Fork, the part that is close to Highland. You may even find an older, but clean house in Highland to rent. I lived there, and loved it. Nice and quiet, and very safe. Lindon is also a nice area to check into. It is just above North Orem.

Check Craigslist or ksl.com for rentals. Also the Deseret News/Salt Lake Tribune have rental listings.

I have seen homes for rent here and there around Utah County, some in very nice areas. The whole county is pretty nice, although some cities have some rough spots. There are a couple of neighborhoods in Provo and Orem that I wouldn't live in, for example.

As long as you live away from student housing, the freeway, main roads like State and University, etc., you shouldn't have much trouble finding a quiet area. The nicer houses are almost always on the east of the freeway, and the closer you get to the mountains the nicer they get. There has been more new building going on west of the freeway lately, though, and it's generally less expensive, so you might find something nice that's more affordable out there.
