I have been offered a great job in Erda. I am a single mom with 3 great kids. I am not LDS but I am sure anywhere will be welcoming..I hope. I am looking for a nice family area with good schools and a safe environment. I am not from Utah and am a foodie..love the eclectic resturants so I would love to be about 20 to 30 mins from this. Love the old town feels but the burbs as well. Being a single mom I have a low budget for housing..around the 180000.00s and need it 3 bedroom and not to old as I am no handyman. Any Any advice would be appreciated. I dont mind having a 30 min drive to work at the most.
Thanks in advance

There are some nice subdivisions in Tooele or Stansbury Park (my stomping grounds) is an awesome place to raise kids. Very family friendly with great schools. I am kind of curious as where you will be working in Erda. There aren't too many businesses located there. It is more rural than anything. Stansbury is right around 30 minutes (give or take) from downtown SL.

Welcome to Utah!

There are plenty of people who work in Salt Lake and Live out there in Tooele, etc, or who work in Tooele and live in Salt Lake. It's only about a 30 min drive, which is what I drive to work now. There are a few places in Salt Lake that are sort of eclectic, but mostly in the east side. That area is a little more expensive, though. Maybe try Midvale/Murray, which is a suburb of SLC. I guess you could also try somewhere in Kearns or West Valley City to live. I'd think Kearns as apposed to West Valley City, though. WVC is the hood of SLC, if SLC has a hood.

Think I will pass on WVC. What about Draper or Sugar House?

Draper would be a bit of a drive to Erda every day. It is doable, but it might get old really fast. Sugarhouse wouldn't be too bad. Around 35 to 40ish minutes or so..sans snow.
