I left the square footage open, returns actually drop to about three houses if you cap the square at 1500, Utah likes e'm big.

Would Logan be less or more expensive than Cottonwood Heights...?
I think it is a lot less.

What I like here is all houses have basements, so when finished they can double the size of a house for a lower cost then adding on or up. Our house is small but with a finished basement it is over 2,400 sq ft.

Thanks everyone,

It is good to know what houses cost. We would like to buy. We have been living in a 900 sf home for years, and we would like a bit more room, but that has not been feasible here.

We bought an 1800 sf home (3 bedroom. 2 bath) for under 150k - but I am on the west side of town where homes are a bit less. Home prices vary here from $80 - $100 k for a condo upwards to $300-$500 k for the larger homes (5-6 bedrooms).

It can be a challenge to find a job here. I was about ready to go insane when I was unemployed after moving here and that was only for about 3 months. But for me, I like to work, and was working in professional positions in DC for about 8 years before moving here.

There are a lot of people looking for jobs - to give you an idea, my office recently posted an opening for a staff position and we only had the position open for 2 weeks and we had 43 applicants. Some people with years of experience.

That does not sound bad to be, back in CA (in early 2008) we had an office job open so we posted an ad and had over 50 apps in 15 minutes. Well over 200 by the end of the second day.

Here in Oregon, I have heard of up to 400 applicants for a standard office job. But that is not to say it is easy there, just that it is wretched here!

I think you also have to consider the population in the city you are hiring - Cache Valley is not exactly large populous area.
