I see there's a thread on this in the movies forum, but I thought I'd start one here since we Utahns might have a greater interest on it than the generally population of the U.S. I just saw the new movie, "127 Hours" about Aron Ralston, the young man who cut off his own arm after being pinned by a boulder against the wall of a deserted canyon in Canyonlands National Park back in 2003. It was exceptionally well done (maybe almost too well done ) and showed the beauty, majesty and remoteness of that part of the country very well. It's only playing at the Broadway Center, if you're interested. Anyway, I would highly recommend it. Just leave your kids home, though, okay? It just blew my mind how many people took their elementary school age kids to see it.

Wow! What a neat story. And sure, why not capitalize on what we've got? What is it they say? If you've got it, flaunt it!

How bad was the arm-cutting scene? I really want to see the movie, but I'm a bit squeamish!

Well, they say it's "very realistic," although it's only about 3 minutes of the entire movie. You could always close your eyes for that long! The rest of the movie is worth it!
