Blondie-Rabbit is on a distinguished road
I know the current owners of the Movie ranch outside Kanab up Johnson canyon. I have photographed there many times. It is closed to the public, and has many people watching that will call the local police on you. If you really want to go to it, again PM me and I can get you into it. Caution disrepair is not the word. It is in horrible state. I am very brave about going into abandonded places, but this is one place I would not even attempt to go into becasue the buildings are only held up by rust and trust. You can see it from the road, but being up close and personal is a whole different experience.

The movie ranch up Paria Canyon is totally gone. Nothing is left of it.

By Springdale just outside of Rockville is Grafton. It is where they filmed Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It is a real Ghost town that was there long before it was used for a movie. Over th eyars some vandals have burnt donw various houses. It is now protected, and slowly being resurrected. It also has a quaint little graveyard/cemetary.

Leeds Utah has Silver Reef and various old relics of a by gone erea, including an old stage coach stop.

Is it ghost towns that you are looking for or movie sets?

Its too bad that there is conflicting info between websites on the same subject, a rare occurrence though. Thank you Blondie for the accurate information. I'll stay clear of Paria and Johnson Canyon. I have a complete itinerary for the 2 weeks in southern Utah with some free time the first day and the last. I"ll check out Grafton while staying in Springdale and visit the Kanab Canyon or the Silver Reef ghost town for later on.

Problem is the websites are old. When the Movie ranch was purchased, the websites were not updated with the new owners. I called the Chamber of Commerce in Kanab and got the information. It really is sad that they let it go. They would have to tear it down and start all over again, the condition it is in now a good matcgh and the whole area would go up. It is fenced of, and most times there are cattle with some nasty looking bulls roaming the pasture around it. You also have to be careful of what time of years, since there a few ratlers over there as well.
