Default Southern Utah

We are non-LDS empty-nesters from So. Cal looking to move to Utah. We were considering Hurricane also. Now I have to wonder since no one responded to you....does that mean the LDS don't want the non-LDS moving in or did no one read your post?

Non-LDS? Thinking of moving to St. George? C'mon in! I need more people to hang out with on Sunday.

We're non-LDS and are enjoying living here, with one slight exception. We have a 19 year old daughter, and she's getting stir-crazy with limited options for entertainment. She's a huge music fan, so it's a good thing Las Vegas is only 2 hours away. I'm trying to get her to re-enroll in college, but so far it's a non-starter. She's more interested in saving money to move back to WA.

Life here is what you make it. Get out, make friends, have fun. Or sit inside and mope about having nothing to do.

I'm non-lds and I've lived in St. George for seven years now. I met my (non-lds) wife here and I love it here. I've never felt shunned, there are things to do on Sunday, we have sports bars, and I have non-lds friends. People just make too big of a deal about the LDS culture. Sure it's quirky, but it's not horrible. If you come here thinking there will be a problem, you will have one. IT IS BEAUTIFUL HERE! Cycling is awesome, beautiful hiking. High elevation in the summer (10,000+ feet) with no snow in the winter. The shopping is getting better and whenever I need a "progressive city" fix and head to SLC or Vegas, all I can think about is getting home to my "quirky" little town. Yes it get's hot in the summer but there is a huge difference between night and day so it cools off quick - unlike Phoenix or Vegas.

Philipo,
Has your daughter ever gone to the Electric Theater?
