Is there an active outdoors lifestyle or is it too cold? We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was very nice, just wondering about winter.

It's slightly colder in winter on average than the SLC area. I wouldn't call it bitter cold, as in northern Minnesota or North Dakota. But then "bitter cold" is relative; some would say it's bitter cold, others not. There is certainly snow and sub-freezing temps pretty much all winter (generally).

What do you like to do? There is plenty to do in the winter. You can snowshoe, cross-country ski or downhill ski. If there is an inversion day, I don't spend as little time in the valley as I can - I head up to the higher elevations where it is warm and sunny.

There can also ride snow mobiles if you like that sort of activity.

Thanks for the response. I was just wondering about running outdoors maybe biking. Also is it possible to get a pass to use the facilities at USU ?

There are classes offered at USU gym that community can take, but I am not aware of a pass to use the facilities. There are plenty of gyms in town - Sports Academy, Golds and one other that I can't think of right now.

As for running in the winter. you would likely be fine most days. During the inversion days, you might not want to though. The inversions only last 2-3 weeks during the winter.
