So I'm from California and am thinking of possibly moving back to Utah. I've lived there once before way back in the summer of 2000. Hard to believe that was 11 years ago. I stayed there for 3 months from June to September of 2000. I was pretty young at the time, 23. I was staying in Provo and doing construction. Did alot of work in the Provo area and also in Nephi and Heber. The last time I was in Utah was early 2001. Beautiful area up there, tons of mountains, pretty warm in the summertime.

So what do you think is the best Utah city to live in?

It depends. If you're into the big city life I would say SLC. From SLC you are close to Idaho, Wyoming, etc. If you want to live in Utah but still be somewhat close to California (and Las Vegas ) I'd say St. George BUT there are no jobs in St. George. If you're into the outdoors and winter sports then SLC. Like you I have also enjoyed my visits to Utah. I would move there in a heartbeat if I could find a job anywhere in Utah. I'm in construction (estimating/proj. MGR) and I've sent many resumes to companies in Utah and no one is biting. I think if you are not from Utah you will not get a job there unless its in a very specialized field and construction is dime-a-dozen. This is very understandable.

-Cheers.

I'm in the same boat as you. I do the same thing in GA. I hate it, it's so boring and right now things are so slow. I started applying to jobs in SLC about a month ago, but in different fields. I don't want to do this forever. My wife is studying to be a chiropractor and wants to open a dance studio, I'm hoping to move a few months early before she graduates. Good luck.
