I'm surprised no one here has mentioned Harry Reid, a Mormon in good standing, and the Democratic leader of the Senate. He obviously won't vote for Romney.

I'm also reminded that Romney profitted off people losing their jobs and their pensions. Bigtime. And when those people sought recourse for their lost wages and retirement - guess who picked up the tab?

The American taxpayer.

His company would force companies into bankruptcy RATHER than recovery to save the jobs... (no wonder he wanted Detroit to fail), take a profit from what was left - and leave people in the dust.

He's reprehensible. And in my estimation a sociopath - who has NO feeling for the damage he does - to his dog or to people.
I'm not voting for Romney, but the statement that "He's reprehensible and in my estimation a sociopath" is an example of what is wrong with politics today. Neither Romney, nor the GOP establishment are demons or working with the devil. They simply hold a viewpoint that is different than mine. That's what is missing in this country today. The notion that people can believe something different than we do without being "evil".

I do think a man who is worth $250 million tends to be out of touch with ordinary people. I'd say the same thing about one of the Kennedy family.

I think Romney's work with Bain Capital though is far more of a "gray area" than some would have us believe. Bain Capital probably did turn some companies around. If those companies were turned around than it meant that at least some jobs stayed in the USA. Some business operations probably should be outsourced to other countries. If work is so non-productive that you can't afford to pay people in the USA the minimum wage to do it, than those jobs shouldn't be here. However, I do think its also probably true that good jobs left this economy under Bain Capital simply because a slightly higher profit margin could be made by having that same work done overseas. This type of action probably injured middle class families while increasing Romney's personal fortune. Its a very mixed bag. I have never worked for a "private equity firm" and I never will. I don't think people who make their fortune that way are as necessary and vital to this country as people who invent new products like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. We should not worship money in this country. We should worship accomplishments. Particularly, accomplishments that have made the lives of many of us better.

Obama's record is certainly important in this election. However, I do find people who think that this whole election should be nothing but a referendum on Obama to be simplistic and even a bit dumb. You always have to ask what the consequences of replacing someone is going to be. Sensible people weigh one thing against another and try to arrive at the best decision.

Remember you cannt see other posters' deleted posts, only your own. This thread has wandered waay off topic. The topic was "are LDS voting for Romney." That is the only discussion here. closed.
