I will be spending 5 days in Salt Lake, with the current weather, what would you recommend doing besides skiing/snowboarding (don't know how to do either)? Would it still be a good idea to go on the scenic byway?

Thanks!

I assume you are not *on foot* all the time, so if you stay away form snowy roads, and just follow mostly well traveled roads, there is a lot to enjoy by just *sight seeing*.
Plan your route, call the Hiway Patrol and go.

There are also a few good movies to watch and visit some musea ?

There are three official state-designated scenic byways leading out of Salt Lake City. Each has its own Wikipedia page.

Big Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway

Great Salt Lake Legacy Parkway ScenicByway

Little Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway

You don't indicate your level of outdoorsiness. Does it extend beyond heated indoor spaces or just driving around? If so, get out there, do something real and change your whole outlook. There's lots to do besides skiing and boarding. Talk to these guys. They are very good. Rental equipment is locally available. Or check out a snowmobiling tour.

Walk around downtown and go see the lights at Temple Square. It's crowded but beautiful.

With MY level out outdoorsiness in the winter, the only option for me is hibernate. At least the longest day of the year is over and I can focus my concentration on spring. Just 3 more months!!

Sorry about the thread hijack...Um, you can go tubing at Gorgoza Park Gorgoza Park - Gorgoza

Don't forget to check out City Creek Mall. It is still decorated for Christmas. Grab some coffee or hot chocolate at the coffee shop!
