Default Gas appliances

While searching for homes in Utah it appears that all the stoves are electric...? is that correct? I have got so use to using a gas stove....I would have to go back to electric plus I would need to buy a new dryer!

I too, was a little wary of the electric appliances when I moved here too. But, I tried out the new stove, and am now very happy with it. As for the gas dryer--I kept mine and just had a gas line installed. It was no big deal, and the guy did it the same day. Also, since living here I've noticed that the electric bills are really low, but that the cost of gas is much higher-compared to what I'm used to in So Cal.

I grew up with gas also. I suppose the huge coal industry industry in Utah has had such a hold on coal fired electric generation here that gas just never got developed. But electricity is relatively cheap compared to other parts of the country and elecrtic appliances have gotten quite efficent.

My house had a gas stove when I bought it. When I remodeled my kitchen, I bought another gas stove. I like the way it cooks, but I hate the clankity-clank of the pan on the grates.

I used electric for a long time but I really like cooking with gas better. It is easier to control and you change the temp and it happens right away....
