Badland wonder is on a distinguished road
Three of my neighbors are non LDS. One neighbor is LDS. We all get along and help each other out when we can. The Paiute Indian reservation is on one side of town, so "brown" is quite a normal site. They have good powwows that everyone attends. There is a Catholic Church that surely has other children to mingle with. Cedar has had an influx of lots of people from different theologies that have moved here within the last 5 years. There are car shows, seems like a parade every month. And I do not recall having to go to any other town or city to do any shopping.

We moved from Southern California to Cedar City just over a year ago.
We are non LDS and we have had no problems with discrimination. We have a very diverse neighborhood. Most people in our neighborhood are from out of state, so that could be why we get along so well. Our teenage daughter has had no issues with making friends. In fact her best friend here is LDS and a very sweet girl.

Good Luck!!!!
