Default Before moving to Utah.....research the area and visit a few times before!

My family used to own a vacation home in Deer Valley and I had visited the Park City area a few times a year for over 15 years. It is beautiful there and has a diverse culture similar to some areas in CA.

My husband and I made the mistake of moving to Utah in June. If I had it to do all over again, I would have flown or drove out here a few times to get a better perspective. Park City or Deer Valley wasn't practical to move because of my husbands employment. So we chose a city call Lehi. We have met wonderful neighbors next to us and across the street. Most of our neighbors are LDS and basically keep to themselves. They show no effort to go out of there way to meet me but I still wave to be friendly....lol

So far, we have been ripped off by two LDS people. I am learning to not trust people here and because people are in a religion doesn't mean anything. My son is a typical little surfer skater boy and is an honor student. Many of the children at his school try to impose their belief systems onto him. I have instructed him to respect their opinions and tell them vice versa.

We only came here to escape the economics of CA. I was hoping that an area such at Utah with a group of people that have a sense of spirituality would be a wonderful influence on my family. It has been the absolute opposite! I have had more LDS people tell me to not trust LDS!

If you are planning to buy or lease any property out here, have an accredited real estate attorney look into the documents! Check with the county recorder if the property is in default. People out here love to lease foreclosing properties to unsuspecting Californians. It is rampant out here!

My goal is to save enough money to go back to CA.

And this further proves the point that Utah County is a whole 'nother world compared to Salt Lake County. It seems as if Provo and area is unwilling to accept outsiders. Perhaps, if you want to save a little money try moving north to somewhere in Salt Lake County.
