Default Portland Oregon to SLC Utah area advice please!!!

Hi all, I wanted to tap into anyone who has lived in Oregon and moved to Utah. The reasons we are moving are for seasons of weather. (Yes I know it can get hot and cold) outdoor activities, family values, larger homes and lots and family.

We are thinking the West Bountiful area or somewhere around slc. I'm not interested in Utah County after living there for college. We looked at Logan, but it was too rural for us. Ogden is not a choice, but we would entertain nice area by Bountiful.

I was just wondering what your thoughts are of the change in state, culture, etc. I'm ia less active LDS, but I can handle mormons.
