Default Talk to me about Bountiful / N. Salt Lake

I just moved to SLC and am working downtown off of State St near 600S. I have been driving all around trying to find an area that I like. I am suprised of how much traffic is in the valley. It seems like cars EVERYWHERE. Some places I like are the Avenues and the Capitol Hill area and west slope (Maramalade?). I always hear about Sugarhouse but the traffic around there seems bad, the houses have tiny yards and it is about as expensive as the Avenues.

One thing I really want is a nice yard for my dog to run and play in an area with little traffic. Going way down south is not an option b/c of the 1-15 congestion. I am attracted to the properties N. Salt Lake, esp. Bountiful b/c of the yard sizes.

Are these areas ultra-Mormon? I don't mind moderate Mormonism b/c I am a religious person myself but I would like an area where a non-LDS 30's couple can live and meet fun friends and go to small cafe's or shops and have house parties with like minded people.

We lived in Bountiful, moved a few miles north, and I can see why you like this area. It is beautiful and the homes (and their yards) are great. It is "ultra-Mormon" and very family oriented. We had a young 30ish non-Mormon couple look at our house and though they said they loved it, they couldn't imagine living here because, in their words, "it's so boring here". It's great for families, lots of parades, summer recreation activities, sport teams, parks, etc...but not much nightlife or even non-kid stuff to do. The couple across the street from me, even though they were Mormon, sold their house and moved to where there was a little more action.
Not trying to sound unfriendly and I think people would be happy to have you in their neighborhood, I'm just not sure how happy you would be.
