Default Love it here!

We love it here! And there are so many places to look besides all these areas many of us live. That's great you found a place in N. Ogden. We would've loved to move to North Ogden, Pleasantview, or Harrisville area. So beautiful up there. That was one of my favorite places when searching. And they still have LAND! You can buy some brand new houses w/bigger yards in some areas. Wish the housing situation would've worked out at the time we were looking - end of winter. Slim pickings at that time of year.

Also we looked at the cities going north on I-15, (just north of Weber Cty.) because they have a lot more open land out there still. And the big building hasn't hit that area yet. But they are getting new houses and some new subdivisions up that way. Sure is pretty in that northern area. I'm sure with as congested as it is down here, that people will have to start focusing on the NORTHERN areas more & more. Northern Weber Cty., Box Elder (cities like Willard & Perry), on up to Logan.

Ogden - Map of Utah

And of course living just East of the mtn. range front would be incredible!! But way out of our price range. I hear they get dumped on with snow and it looks like a beautiful winter wonderland out there during the winter. A lady I just met that lives out there, said they plow the roads very fast, so the residents can get into the city.

At least I can enjoy driving out there and taking in all the spectacular views. Amazing nature sights - that's for sure.

Morgan County

It would be super hard for us to move now that we're already settled in. Easier to move when the company moves ya. And we do love the views right where we are. Just would've loved to have more land, which is super hard to come by & costs incredible amounts of $$$. So, we're fine right here where we have everything so close by.

to everyone moving to utah. i have lived all over the front here. i love it all. most of the time has been in provo. yes you've probably heard that ogden has some problems. but where doesn't? ogden is a very cool town and the crime is dropping every year.... i think its like tenth lowest in the state now.... i am thinking of moving there too.... just because it is so cheap! someone was asking about provo, well i am not lds and i love it here... it is a very high lds area, and i think most of the rep comes from the surrounding cities....... provo is a really good place to live..... not much for a night life though..... there is only a handful of bars and clubs, but the ones that are here are good ones...... lots of stuff to do in utah for outdoor activity.....anywhere you live on the front is easy access to canyons, mountains, lakes, camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world!!!!!! so to everyone moving here i hope you like it here as much as i do.... i know there is a lot of people moving from southern cali and they love it here.....

I saw the questions earlier in this post about Syracuse. We moved to Syracuse in July and have really liked it. It has a small town feel but the city seems to be proactive in bringing businesses and taking care of things (traffic) before they become an issue. In the area we live in there is a Walmart, library, fire station, community center, Dr's office, nature park, lake for fishing/canoeing, and walking trails. The mosquitoes were a bit pesky but I chalk that up to being closer to the lake and still a lot of open land. The house we bought is on 1/3 acre. I read the city newsletter and it seems like it is headed in a good direction. Also, close to Layton, which has more shopping and about 20 minutes from Ogden and 30-40 from SLC for even more choices.

I was just looking through a "The British Medical Journal" , one from 2005.

In the article there was the statement,
"The Cache County in Utah, USA, is known for the longevity".

That sounds good. But what do the British know.

Do you think there is a large elderly population there?

Must be a health place to live?
