JCMINIS is on a distinguished road
Default Utah Soon

Hello,my family of 5 are going to be relocating to UT from NC in the spring of 07.My 15 year old is a training(spending my money) on the snowbird race team. We also ride dirtbikes(including my 4 year old daughter). We come from a town of less than 1000 people,so riding our dirtbikes on our own property isnt a problem.
My question,,anyone know where to look for property that would be "out in the country" that would also be close to either snowbird or park city??
I just cant seem to find this type of info anywhere.

Thank you

JC

Outside of Park City there is still some undeveloped land. You could find some acreage if you looked there, though it might be expensive. Maybe closer to Heber? It's not far from park city. There are lots of out-of-the-way places in the mountains around there that might give you room to ride.

Maybe if you head further east on I-80 there would be some land. Heber city is also not too far and cheaper, as is Kamas. there are some other small towns along the interstate within about 20 miles. I think a lot of the land is federally controlled. That's about all I know

It all depends on price range. Click on map below to pull up the area. Anywhere on Hwy 32 is decently inexpensive as some others have stated: Peoa, Oakley, Marion, Kamas, Francis, etc. Midway is expensive, i guess some #s would help. Midway is selling 1/3 to 1/2 acre lots from 250-450k. I'm assuming you want a little more land than that...1+acre. If you go on Hwy 32 you can get decently cheap like 1-2 acres w/small home between 200-400k. Heber is a little cheaper than Midway, but still more than anything on Hwy 32. But they are also a lot closer. you might want to trade in your dirtbikes for snowmobiles as well, that area gets tons of snow. Snyderville, Kimball Junction & Silver Creek are all really expensive, anything w/a decent amount of land is over 1 million. If you give some more specifics, I can get you some more info.

WOW,Guess I better shop around some more. Here in NC I bought 30 acres with 1500sqft 2 story home for 210k 5 years ago.
As far as buying info,I should have been more specific.Sorry. I am mostly looking for just land,no house.Something we can put some cheap housing on(mobile) and build our dream home(15-2000sqft log home).I was thinking 5-10acres or more.
Maby I should extend my range a little ? I currently commute 55 min to work, but thats the price I pay to have no neighbors.
I was looking to spend less than 100k for land, but looks like I miscalculated property values out there.
Thank you all for your help.
JC

This is very easy, but you won't find it near the ski hot spots. These areas are becoming very trendy and are attracting the Robert Redfords of the world.

Yeah, I would say Heber, get there before the prices go through the roof, or you could go more West out towards Eagle Mountain/Lehi area, but there are no roads whatsoever and it's probably one of the most frustrating places to drive in Utah.
