We moved to Utah with the intention of only staying 2 years. We live in Daybreak. Since my husband worked from home for the last 2 years, we didn't really get out of South Jordan much other than to ski, go to the airport or see a Jazz game. We didn't know anyone when we moved here so all of our friends live in the same general area. Basically, we don't know much about living in other areas here. My husband recently accepted a job downtown that he really wanted so we are staying longer. He leaves the house and rides TRAX downtown. He has to leave the house by 7:30 to get to the office by 9. He leaves the office at 6 and gets home at 7:30. I'm thinking it may be a good idea to move so his days aren't so long. Which neighborhoods would be good, which should we avoid? We have 2 boys in elementary school. Schools are very important to us, so please keep that in mind. Thanks for any input.

Default SLC Downtown

That really depends on your price range. There are some truly wonderful neighborhoods on the east side of Salt Lake. Like older houses?

My DH works close to downtown, but drives to work. We live in WJ, but way west, out by Bacchus Hwy, 111, & he takes that to 201, then into work. It's 20 mins, unless there are backups, which is very, very rare. =) One of the few east to west routes that is not marred by horrendous traffic during rush hour.
