scottydoc is on a distinguished road
We visted Cedar City in April of 2008 for the frist time. Our son works for the BLM in Cedar. He transfered to Cedar from Denver. We are retired and looking at a move in 2009 from Norwood,Ohio. We love old houses, we have restored a few. My wife is not totally on board with the move. Can you give me more insight into the Parowan community?

Red Rock is on a distinguished road
Parowan is a great little community. My wife is from there, and love to visit her family that is still there. It has a little grocery store, a few restaurants and gas stations, most of the residents are locals who have been there a long time, and are mostly LDS. Many people from Las Vegas have retired there, and use it as a summer and winter desitnation as Cedar Breaks, and Brian Head ski resort are just up the Parowan canyon. It is convenient that Cedar City is just a 15 minute drive. It does get cold in Cedar and Parowan as the elevation is around 6000 feet, and you get plenty of snow. It is a beautiful area. I recently moved back to the town where I grew up, Kanab, Utah where I feel is the prettiest mix of red rock, it doesn't get too cold for too long, and not as hot as St. George in the summer. Kanab is similar in population size to Parowan, but has a lot more in way of restaurants and stores and things, because of the thousands of tourists that come through. It is also a little more out of the way, as it is about an hour and fifteen minute drive to St. George for the larger shopping. Well that's my input.
