Default Income in Salt Lake City- and schools....

Hi everyone. My husbands company would like us to relocate from Australia to Salt Lake City to take up a middle management position in the finance area. He would be managing a team of 8 people and we have absolutely NO idea what a good salary/package they should be offering. I'd appreciate your views on this guys.

Also we have 2 kids, 10 and 7, and have read that the public schooling is overcrowded and underfunded so may look at private schooling. Any reasonably priced recomendations?

Thanks so much for any help.

I would think your income requirements depend on the number of years of experience. From the level of position (middle management), and the ages of your kids, I’m guessing he has about 10 years of experience. If it is a finance-type management position that requires an MBA and 10 years of experience, I’d shoot for $80,000 - $90,000. That is just based on what I think the finance people where I work with about that much experience make. A salary of that level would put you quite a bit above the median salary in SLC and should enable you to afford a decent home. I can’t help you with the private school tuition question.

Thankyou!!! Yes, he has about 11 years experience so your comments are very helpful. Nice to have some idea of whether the company are offering in the right ballpark.
