Default Logan Bound

Hi all. Can anyone offer any information on where to live in Cache Valley? After 25 years I'm afraid the Northwest rains have finally taken their toll on my wife and I. We fell in love with the Logan area while passing through years ago and have always wanted to move there. Now that we have kids going to college at both BYU and BYU Idaho it seems like a great excuse to make the move and be a little closer to them, at least through the college years. We still have 3 kids at home so we are looking for a family friendly area. We've been to about every community from Smithfield to Wellsville and Hyrum. Of late I've even considered Paradise. I've never been out that far, but I've checked out the area on the internet. (Not a lot of info there, I admit.) The open country feel is appealing although it's a bit removed from town. I work from home so my options are open. Any insights anyone can offer would be most appreciated!

Have you been to logan in the winter? REALLY REALLY COLD!

Be aware of the intense inversions that can stay over Logan for long periods of time in the winter.

Paradise is a wonder place hence the name. I have two friends that are from there and they absolutely love it. We pass through Logan about once a week in the summer on our way to our cabin in Bear Lake.

Logan would be a wonderful place to live, but if I had the choice I would live closer to Salt Lake City...in a place like Suncrest (overlooking the SL Valley and Utah Valley) It's above the inversion too!

Check out listing in Heber Utah. You get the ritz of Park City, but the country feel at a reasonable price.

Default In Logan

We moved to Logan two years ago. We have lived all over and have to say that Logan is the nicest little town we have encountered. You ask about where to live. I would recommend Logan itself. It has pretty good public transit, go two miles or so and you can be walking up a canyon alone. I have horses in my backyard. There is really little need to move to Paradise or out very far to maintain a pretty rural environment. Housing is plentiful and inexpensive. Rentals, if that is what you are looking for, are mostly newer and priced far below what we have found elsewhere. The winters here are a bit long and you can count on a couple of weeks of "inversions" when the fog/smog hangs low in the air. The summers and fall make up for it. I would recommend the place highly.
