Question Hotel 1/2 way thru Utah

Good Morning!
My son and I are relocating to Ogden from Los Angeles on 06/30/ It will be approximately 10-12 hours to drive. Since we will have 2 cats withus, I don't think we can make it in one day. Here's the problem....Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel that is approximately 200 miles from Ogden that also accepts pets? I have a hotel reserved in SLC but now am not sure I can make that long of a drive in 1 day. Thanks!!

We just travelled across the country with our three small dogs and two girls and stayed in LaQuinta hotels all the way. They are all pet friendly with no extra fees. There is one in Saint George, but I think that is not as far as you would like to be.

Just in case, here is the link for that hotel.
La Quinta Inn & Suites St. George, UT - Utah Hotels

I think that Beaver might put you right around 200 miles or so. There is a Quality Inn there that accepts pets.
Quality Inn hotel, Beaver Utah hotels close to Brian Head ski area, Beaver UT 84713

By the way, when we relocated to Utah years ago, we moved from Jersey with our two cats. They were so scared that they just hid wherever they could. We drove around 9 hours a day to get here.

Good luck with your move!

Default Cats

When we moved here we stoped at motel 6 and also some holiday inns allow pets. You may find out where you want to stop and call the hotels in that area.

About 200 miles would put you right around the Beaver area. There are stops every 50 miles or so. Going north on I-15, you will run into St. George, Cedar City, Parowan, Beaver, Fillmore, Nephi...then you get into the Provo/Orem area and all the little towns around there...Spanish Fork, Springville, Pleasant Grove, etc. Go around Point of the Mountain (basically the Utah/Salt Lake County line) and you get into West Valley, Kearns, South Jordan, etc. I would look around the Beaver/Fillmore area for a hotel if you are wanting about 200 miles out.

Interesting fact -- the reason there are stops every 50 miles, is that is about how far a stage coach could travel in 1 day. So the pioneers built settlements every 50 miles along the main transit routes.

I'm moving to St. George Ut from the North Shore of Massachusetts with two cats who are scared / terrified of being in motion and one who has motion sickness. I have checked out everyway of getting them there from going myself and leaving them with a sitter, set up the apartment, then come back for them. RV rentals won't let me go out of state with them. A private jet (ha ha But I'd try anything) from Beverly Municipal to St. George is between 5,000.00 and 7,000.00 (yeah, right) driving them in a car is out, Pebblie Pooh always has an "accident" in his carrier and Nella sings so much I get a migraine. A regular airline will allow them but in a too small for my kids carrier, and they have to stay under the seat in front of me at all times. If they get too scared, I'd have to pick up the carrier just to tell them "Momma's Here". There must be a way to get these two precious souls over 2,000 miles away with there mom. This is going to take place next spring. Any other ideas? Thank you.

I used to fly my cats with me all the time but it was my Dad's plane..Ohh that was back in the good ole days..Anyway, I digress. Talk to your vet about Valium for the little furminators-it worked every time. Get it early enough to see how they react to it and get the titration done before you set out.
Good luck and meow
