Did you decide on Hurricane? I heard the same thing from our real estate agent. I wonder if Hurricane gets snow. I know someone answered that question for me before but not sure what thread it was on

Oh, we aren't looking into buying or anything. I actually learned that from a woman we met at the Zion Ponderrosa Ranch.

We decided to take a tour of their new real estate development, and got to go with the actual owner of the property, who took us around a few homes (they were all really nice!) and explained to us about the area. A couple things I remember her saying was that St. George was ranked the #1 safest city in America, along with Hurricane's growth.

She explained to us that her grandfather had bought a massive amount of acerage (6,000, I think) way back, and that now her along with two other developers plan on making the area east of Zion the next Park City. It all sounded pretty neat.

I would be happy to explain more tomorrow, when I have some more time!

Just my two cents worth, I am sitting at the airport, my plane is delayed of course..

I personally don't care for Hurricane..too far from the action, so to speak. At least 20 minutes to our exit in Washington. Not much to do out there, but of course you have to check it out for yourself. It just didn't 'send' me when we looked out there before we bought in Green Spring. Just too far in the boonies, in the future, maybe, but I can't see it in the next few years.

I will email you the pics tomorrow Sarah, I don't know why they are not going through. Please come by when you are out in St. George area!

I dont think Hurricane gets much snow, about what we get which is next to nothing on a good day, lol, but it is a little higher and colder in the winter, about the same temp as us in the summer.

Another Pak City would be awesome! I heard St. George was a pretty safe city also. I am excited for my trip even though I will only be there two days looking at homes. Next trip I will have to spend more time to see more of the sights there.

Exactly the type of area I am looking for then. My husband doesn't mind a little snow.

Definitely check out Hurricane then, it's nice out there, lots of room to grow, that's for sure...and closer to Zion and Springdale, at the mouth of Zion, quite a nice artsy little town, good restaurants, lots of arts and crafts, fun place to spend a day. I hear they have a farmers market but have not been to that yet. We like to eat at the Pioneer Restaurant, yum!

Have a great day..

Steadykat is on a distinguished road
Hurricane, like everywhere else in this County is terribly overbuilt and the retraction here is now beginning in earnest.

IMHO: My advice to anyone who wants to move here (SoUtah) is don't buy a house, rent. The trend (much lower home prices than the BIG drops that have already occurred here) will be your friend in the next couple of years.

Unfortunately, anyone who purchased here during our "bubble" will come to realize just how badly they were misinformed by believing those chants of "it's different here!".

So are you saying it's not a good time to buy? You think prices will drop more. What do you mean people saying " its different here" ....lower prices the people or what? Just curious because in August when I visit planning on looking at homes and considering purchasing for when we make our move there in 3 years. So I guess I am trying to understand what you are saying
