Not I.... I was born and raised in Metairie, LA and we have only lived in Riverview, FL for two years. Not too much difference in weather only that the humidity here is a little less than back home. I am sick of the three H's (heat, humidity, and most definitely hurricanes). We made it through hurricane Katrina but I would not want to go through another one like that again. Took 12 hours to evacuate to Arnaudville, LA (which is normally a 2 hr. 45 min. drive). Not to mention that I was almost carjacked twice while evacuating. Lucky for me, I had my guns on the front seat next to me which discouraged the would-be-thieves once I stuck it to each one's head. First time I ever had to point a weapon at another human being in self-defense and hopefuly was the last time. I was told earlier that it looks like hurricane Ike may be coming my way (near Tampa). Hopefully this storm takes a turn back out into the Atlantic.
I fell in love with the mountains when I helped my older brother move to CO when I was 13 years old. Hopefully one day I can convince the wife to want to head out there. Wish me LOTS of LUCK!!

Holy moly....and you are worried about dealing with a few select rude people in Utah?! I think you would be able to handle things here just fine. I like the heat over the cold, BUT would take the cold over humidity ANY day of my life.

And that is trying to convence the wife, not me or the boys.
Me and the boys would love to be there with all of the outdoor stuff to do. Whenever I try to talk to her about Utah, she does not want to entertain me. I know we have to wait until the housing market settles to begin thinking of moving, but I will patiently wait.
I just have to find some way of proving that Utah is just like any other place in the US - just have to get to know people around you. But I can also see her point - I do not want to move into a neighborhood like my brother and then only have two kids in the area that will be allowed to play with my boys. My family is my life and I do not want to see them get hurt because I will feel guilty because I am the one who wants to move to Utah so bad.

When I convince my wife I will let you know. You can have the three "H"s that I abhor: heat, humidity, and hurricanes. I am only 36 but I am tired of them all.

I'm sorry that you miss back home.
Do you think you will ever move back there or somewhere else?

Haha I'm sure you'll like it there much better than in So Jo Even though I can't imagine moving to a suburb of Las Vegas, I take it you don't like it here so I wish you the best of luck in the move
