My kids never heard a peep about not "being in the club." However, they had friends who were picked on for being Mormon.

Lafrench, we are in the same shoes. We are wanting to move to Utah. And we also have to wait until the housing market comes back up. We are in Arizona, and can not wait to move to Utah. We were there visiting my inlaws a couple of months ago and we loved it there. Very quite and beautiful. We are not LDS, and we did not encounter any problems with anyone. My inlaws live in Syracuse, which is like 5 minutes from Layton. My husband does have a cousin that lives in Layton and and Aunt that lives in Provo. We are fortunate that I can transfer with my work, and move anywhere we want and still have a job. I have been talking with our realtor, and we have come to the conclusion that the best time to put the house up would be early 2010. So unfortuntly we have to wait. Good luck in convincing your wife in moving.

Yeah, but at least both you and your husband both agree on the move. I will never give up trying to convince her about moving out west. I do not want to move back to NOLA, as the crime is getting worse and the city is still trying to rebuild from hurricanes Katrina/Rita.
How is living in AZ? I was also looking at Flagstaff, Tucson, and lastly Phoenix areas. How are the schools in AZ? What is the cost of living compared to jobs?
Is it just as beautiful as Utah?

Where in Utah did you live?
Are you still living in Utah? And how do you and your family like living there?

I first lived in cottonwood, and then bought a home in the West Jordan. I lived there for five years.

I am in Tampa Florida now. I'll be back in 3-6 years to settle down in Utah for good, probably in the Cottonwood, Sandy, or Draper area. I'm trying to be patient.

Wife went back to get her second bachelors and then her Masters, and finally we want all ducks in order before we go out. Three years would be ideal, but if that is not the case, then we are ok with giving it a little more time. We also have a goal of trying to pay off our home during this time frame. The time line is flexible, because as we all know, life is constantly changing. I never thought in a million years I'd be back in Tampa, nor did my wife think she would be back in school. But here we are.

Steady as she goes I say...

LAFrench, you might also want to contact a staffing company about jobs (ie Robert Half Technology or SOS staffing). They are both big in Utah (Robert Half is an international company). I do not know if they only staff administrative jobs, but it is worth a call. They don't charge you anything (they charge the company that hires you).
