You might want to check out Stanley, Idaho. It rarely breaks the mid 80's, gets downright chilly at night even in summer. Their humidity really is all over the place. In the day it can hit 10%, but at night be above 80%, due to a nearly 40 degree temp difference from day and night. Drawbacks: middle of the mountains, somewhat isolated, fierce winters. Don't know about the thunderstorms. Also, it's very small. But absolutely beautiful.

Thing is, anyplace that has low humidity isn't going to be the greatest place for T-storms.

Also, look into Maine. Colors, 4 seasons, storms (still not sure bout T storms), but the humidity can get high being so close to the ocean.
