Now for a really fun time.....OMG!!! Knotts scary farm @ Halloween!!!! Every childhood terror I had, came roaring back to life.....it was so cool! I was chased for forever by midget clowns with chainsaws....my throat was so sore the next day from screaming...it was the best time ever!

I saw it plenty of times from afar, but never made it over to the island. Closest I got was my ship passing by it when I went on a cruise that left out of NY harbor... I didn't think they let people go up in it any more - was that a while ago?

Last time I was there...was almost 20 yrs ago??! People were allowed part way up, but not all the way (I actually got really sick on the ferry and didn't go in at all-my family went in and left me on a bench thinking I was being a petulant teenager!). I thought that it was permanent, but never tried to confirm it.

I don't ever want to be someone who misses what is around me...I grew up on LI, and it seemed no one went to the Statue of Liberty and the Museum of Natural History unless they went with school. My BF and I would often take the train in on the weekends, go to Maddison Square Garden (for whatever happened to be there), the Intrepid, museums ect.

However, when we lived outside of DC, I did not go to the White House. Yeah, I'm kicking myself for that now. Especially since I had neighbors who worked there doing the tours (military) and wouldn't have had to wait. Man I wish I could go back!

Yeah that small world song does get annoying after 4 or 5 times through that ride. My least favorite was the Pirates of the Caribean. We were on the ride with all our kids and it broke down for an hour and a half and we were stuck in it right where the lady is chasing the guy with a frying pan I think. I couldnt get that song out of my head for weeks.

Never been to Knotts Berry at Halloween, sounds fun. If you go to Gardner Village on Witches night you might have the same dreams. lol

Now DC is fun. One of my most favorite trips. So much to see. You need to have alot of time to spend there. You will need to go back.

VC Dreamer have you been to Lagoon in Farmington- Frightmares during Halloween. That might be similiar to Knotts Berry on Halloween.....on a smaller scale probably. My son used to work at Lagoon, so we attended that every year.

This year will be my first time going. My girls love getting scared as much as I do, so we're planning on doing that. Hubby won't go with us though.....he said something about having to stay home and watch the grass grow......

The witch thing at gardner village is great, did it last year and gonna do it again this year!

Can't do the scary halloween stuff at my house this year though.....the HOA got too many complaints by parents of small kids....even though we had warning signs posted....

That would push my husband over the edge. Halloween is his FAVORITE holiday and the house gets scarier every year. The minute he found out a HOA wouldn't allow that, our house would be on the market so fast...
