Murray High School?
how's the community around zip code 84123 in Murray and how's Murray high school?
I realize that the schools in Murray school district are pretty good, I always thought that the schools at the East bound is better till I saw the test scores at the Murray district. any input will be appreciated!

I can't really comment on the high school as I don't have kids that are old enough although I do know it has a great reputation and I've heard that the Murray school district is one of two of the best in Utah.
As far as the community in Murray. It is great!! Very family orientated with a ton of fun things to do in the community. Murray Park is a beautiful park with a great new rec center. Murray library is a nice little library that has fun toddler and kids programs with crafts and reading time every week.

Well we only live a couple blocks from state but it's the east side of state which I think makes a difference. I think that is true but maybe more so of the west.

the schools in Murray seem to be almost as good as the east side of salt lake city, but why are the homes in the Murray area so much more affordable than the east side close to the Zoo and footfill drive. I'm comparing zip code 84123 to 84109. Also the crime rate in Murray zip code 84123 is atually lower than zip code 84109 on the east side. any one can explain all this please? many thanks.

It's the common misconception that the more east you go, the less crime there will be. However, this isn't true in Murray, the Jordans, and portions of WVC and Taylorsville. Murray has a good reputation though, even though it is a "cheaper" part of town.

why is Murray at the cheaper part of town if it has a good reputation? in the real estate world, if the homes are cheaper, it's either the crime rate higher or the schools aren't as good...

84128 and parts of 84120. You won't find the "best" schools, and it would lengthen the commute time for your husband.

The Murray school district encompasses all of Murray City (or almost all of it). So, it includes more than just the area around State Street. I wouldn't consider Murray "cheap" when factoring square footage vs. price. (At least looking at townhomes & condos). You are also not paying for the "view" you get from homes on the upper east bench.
