Default Retirement help- Sanpete County

My husband and I are considering a move to an area called "The Palasades" we will be looking for a reputable builder, but first need to know of any pitfalls we might encounter. We are non-LDS and hope that will not be a problem. We are moving from an area with high-humidity that will no longer allow us to enjoy being out-of-doors during the summer months. We expect snow but do not want to feel "shut-in" all winter and can you tell us the cost difference between gas vs. propane. We will appreciate any input or suggestions.
