Any FL people living in Utah that could give me their insights on living in UT??
I also would love to hear of any other people from Louisiana that are living in UT!!

ME! Lafayette! Well I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I have lived in Louisiana since I was 2. Up until May that is. My wife is from West Valley, and she has been wanting to move back to Utah every since I brought her down there 9 years ago. She finally got her way, by finding a position open in Orem, UT. with the company she worked for in Lafayette, La.

So now, we are about to close on a home in Eagle Mountain. I am hoping we made the right decision by being so far away from EVERYTHING though. I work in West Valley SLC, so I have about a 45 min commute, and the gas price is not helping that. I think Eagle Mountain will grow fast though, and with the current housing, I feel that I got a good deal on the home we are buying.

Now, I can't wait to go back to Lafayette to visit family, and bring back some REAL FOOD!!! I have had such a craving for boudin and cracklins. I can make most of the rest here, but not the boudin and cracklins. LOL Everyone here in Utah keep telling me I need to open up a Cajun Food restaurant. HEhe maybe one day.

Well not to go on any longer, I have to say I LOVE it here!!! I love the weather, you can HAVE the humidity. I really am looking forward to the snow, but every time I say that around here, people look at me like I have 3 eyes.

You're looking forward to the snow but being from Louisiana you might get more than you bargained for...

There's definitely not a lot of Louisiana natives that live in this state. I know there were some people that relocated here after Katrina (like everywhere of course), but many of them have likely moved back or somewhere else (also like everywhere).

I am from Louisiana and this thread caught my attention. The insurance adjuster just left the house (he's from Utah) and I am fed up with the hurricanes. I live in southeastern Louisiana in a coastal parish and with each storm, conditions are getting worse. The only natural disaster he could come up with is the possibility of earthquakes-so can anyone else give me their input about this? thanks
