Rocky8Bear is on a distinguished road
Smile Utah vs. Colorado

I love the Rockies and have always wanted to move there. I have visited many places in Colorado over the past 8 years and really enjoyed my time there. However, I have noticed over the last few years that Colorado appears to be turning into "East California". The economic news & political snapshots coming out of Colorado appears to confirm this.

Can anyone provide me a comparison of the 2 states?

Thanks!

Yeah there was. Many posts in that thread too. I like both Utah and Colorado. Born in Denver and raised children in Utah. Both are great places. The mountains are closer and prettier in Utah I think. From Denver they seemed so far away. Also cost of living higher in Colorado and home prices too. I guess it depends where in Colorado and Utah you want to move as to what there is to do, cost, schools, employment etc.

DP525 will become famous soon enoughDP525 will become famous soon enough
Having moved here from Colorado Springs two years ago after rliving there for 10 years, I can say they are very similar but distinctly different too. I found housing more expensive in the Salt Lake area that Colorado Springs, but it is probably less than Denver, although Denver has been hit harder by the housing crunch so maybe that is no longer true.

You know about the geography and climate (very simiular although a bit drier in Utah) so I will not say much. The main difference is the very conservative church-based culture in Utah is quite a bit different that the more liberal culture of Colorado. But I hear the ski lift lines are much shorter here on Sunday than they are in CO so it can be a positive.

Salt Lake, Sandy, Murray those areas might be more expensive. Northern Utah not so much. My brother lives in Aurora, CO and my other 3 live in the Denver/Englewood/Littleton areas. They say homes have dropped quite a bit....like everywhere pretty much!
